Samuel Meyers DC graduated with his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, GA in 2003. Upon graduation he moved to the Seattle, WA area to practice in his hometown. After a few years in Seattle, the thought of warm weather and the overwhelming urge to see the sun once again drew him back to the South, where he eventually happily landed in Florida. Since then, he’s been committed to creating a full service multi-disciplinary environment for treatment of neuromusculoskeletal (nerve, muscle, joint) conditions, where specialists in chiropractic, physical therapy and massage therapy work together for the greatest patient outcome. He works closely with the medical community to assist patients in their recovery from injury and pain without having to resort to more invasive procedures.
Since graduating, Dr. Meyers has accumulated thousands of hours of advanced training and clinical experience. He frequently attends post-graduate seminars in the fields of chiropractic, physical therapy, sports therapy, fitness training, and massage therapy. This diverse educational background allows him to diagnose and treat his patients’ pain and injuries with a multi-faceted approach. Dr. Meyers enjoys the challenge of helping rehabilitate injured athletes, as well as non-athletes. He is currently the team chiropractor for the Tampa Bay Rowdies professional soccer team. Prior to becoming a chiropractor, he worked as a personal trainer, and today he brings his passion for exercise and fitness into his rehabilitation treatment techniques. Dr. Meyers was a team member of the Tampa Krewe rugby club during its National Championship season in 2010, but he currently focuses his energy on personal fitness. He understands that every person and their individual pain or injury is unique. Therefore a treatment plan needs to be tailored for each unique individual problem. You don’t have to live in pain! Dr. Meyers will work to help return you to the healthy, happy life you deserve.
Dr. DeCosmo is the Medical Director of Bay Injury& Rehab, assisting the team medically with acute injuries, such as auto injuries or trauma. His functional and nutritional medicine practice is also based out of the Bay Injury & Rehab facility, and his direct number for these needs is 727.498.6488.
John DeCosmo, DO has been in practice in Saint Petersburg, Florida since July 18, 1988. He is an Osteopathic Physician and is Board Certified in Family Practice. His practice has matured and evolved quite nicely in that time and the doctor enjoys a good reputation in the community. Dr. DeCosmo has always followed the ideal of treating the patient the way you would want yourself or a close family member treated. He has treated his patients like this and his only concern during the office visit is the patient and the issues that pertain to their health. This has manifest as better patient satisfaction, patients feeling that their story has been heard, and a strong sense of a team approach. Dr. DeCosmo is very attentive to the wishes, beliefs, and preferences of his patients and encourages the input of the patient in the decision making process. Dr. DeCosmo has spent countless hours in medical training and continuing education. He maintains the lectures and credits necessary to maintain his licensure and board certification for Family Practice. Since 1997, Dr. DeCosmo has taken a special interest in the field of Functional Medicine or Nutritional Medicine. He has taken the advanced intensive Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice and is one of a few doctors who have done so in the Tampa Bay Area. He is currently pursuing additional training to achieve Certification in Functional Medicine granted by the Institute of Functional Medicine, one of the premiere training facilities in Functional Medicine. This additional training has afforded him the ability to delve deeper into health problems. As a matter of fact, one dictum in Functional Medicine is to look for the “root cause” of a medical problem. Finding the root cause allows treatment to be guided to the source of the problem and not to just put a “band aid” on the downstream manifestations of an illness. Many issues just go away instead of having to add prescription after prescription to cover or try to control the issue. This is a very satisfying approach for both doctor and patient and is very empowering for the patient.
